Programming and community engagement are at the core of our strategy. We organize and support a diverse range of events that aims for the development of integrated solutions for those who need them most. These programmes vary from educational, cultural, social to technology aspects.

Green Gold Bamboo Summit

Care Luit was the primary organizer of the first Green Gold Bamboo Summit in Assam aimed at promoting sustainable business opportunities for local planters/entrepreneurs. The two day national mega event was held on April 28-29, 2017 in Guwahati, Assam. At the event, Hon'ble Chief Minister announced the establishment of a state of the art incubation centre for bamboo entrepreneurs in Assam.

International Day of Forests, 2017

 

Iora Ecological Solutions and Vertiver celebrated International Day of Forests, March 21, 2017 in partnership with ASSAM Forest Department and Care Luit. Hon'ble CM Sarbananda Sonowal launched the Outdoor and Online campaign "Forests are Life" and the Sustainable Actions for Climate Resilient (SACReD) Registry for a Carbon Neutral Majuli. Also present were Hon'ble forest minister Smt. Pramila Rani Brahma and Hon'ble Agriculture Minister Sri. Atul Bora. Hon'ble CM mentioned that the theme "Forests are Life" must be the guiding principle of all development. He said that "Without destroying our ecology, we need to grow our economy." 

Act EAST

 

On August 22, 2015 Care Luit organised a seminar titled 'Act East & North East: Opportunities and Challenges for India’s North East' in Guwahati, Assam. India's north-east can serve as a frontier base in cementing strong economic ties between India and the prosperous Southeast Asian and East Asian economies, therefore, the government's Act East policy is a welcome step for the region, and Care Luit's seminar was aimed at creating a positive public awareness among the Northeastern people.

The list of speakers included - Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs (GoI), Ambassador Humayun Kabir of Bangladesh Foreign Service, Bijoya Chakraborty (MP), Prof. Srikanth Kondapalli (JNU, expert of China affairs), Alak. Kr. Buragohain (VC, Dibrugarh University) among other prominent academia and experts.

Assam in the next decade - an interactive session with MPs of Assam

 

On 7 November 2015, Care Luit organized an interactive session "Assam in the next decade" amongst students and young professionals in New Delhi. The objective of the meet was to deliberate on the youth's potential role and vision for Assam. The event was graced by the presence of the then Hon'ble Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of India, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, Shri Himanta Biswa Sharma (MLA Assam), Shri Ram Madhav (BJP General Secretary), Rajeev Mehta (IOA Secretary General) , Shri Kamakhya Tasa and Shri Rameswar Teli, MPs of Assam, and a number of senior Bureaucrats from Assam.

Interactive Session on education, sports, tourism & culture

 

In May 2016, Care Luit convened an interactive session on three topics - Importance of Positive attitude for Youth Empowerment, Importance of Sports in the Education system, and North East –A tourist destination to unravel. The session was inaugurated by Joint secretary of DONER Ministry, Govt. of India, A.M Singh, and speakers included eminent thinker Mayur Bora, Tourism Advisor Partha Pratim Das and Assam’s legendary swimmer Mithu Baruah. This interactive session was moderated by educationist Mr.Sanjay Aditya Singh.

Son of the Soil Award

 

Care Luit instituted the first edition of its biennial initiative ‘Son Of The Soil Award’ in May 2016 with an objective to encourage and recognize the indigenous young people who have excelled in their respective fields. The Award consists of a memento and Fifty One Thousand Rupees.

Hon’ble  Member of Parliament, Mr. Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Hon’ble Ministers, Govt of Assam Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary & Shri Keshav Mahanta along with Hon’ble MLA Shri Ranjit Das and Shri A.M.Singh, Joint Secretary DONER , Govt of India presented the awards to winners -

Mr. Narayan Konwar (Emerging Administrator), Mr. Abhipsit Saikia (Emerging Entrepreneur), Mr. Sazadul Hussain (Emerging Media Personality), Mrs. Pranita Bhaishya Medhi (Emerging Artist) and Ms. Supriya Gogoi (Emerging Sportsperson).

The Award ceremony was followed by a colorful cultural show celebrating the north-east.

Care Luit’s cultural tribute to Gana Shilpi: Late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika​

Care Luit observes the death anniversary of Late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika - Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner - a celebrated personality of Assam with different themes of discussions and cultural forms in New Delhi. The events include  a lecture series on Literature & Culture of Northeast India on the occasion of his 2nd death anniversary in November 2013, and north-east folk dance and song theme on his 3rd anniversary in 2014.

Seminar: Kaziranga- its present and future

Annual floods create a lot of distress in Kaziranga, Assam’s wildlife sanctuary home to the one horned rhino. The seminar 'Kaziranga- its present and future' organised in Delhi University in November 2012,  invited conservationists, wildlife experts and students to discuss solutions to recommend to the government for taking immediate steps on issues such as acquiring and protecting adequate hill areas for the habitats of wildlife, eviction of illegal encroacher and industries from the park area, protecting the park around the vulnerable pitch of national highway, etc. to ultimately protect the wildlife during floods and from road accidents.

Education Aid

 

Care Luit collaborated with Chetanalaya to support students with disabilities in the Delhi and Haryana slum areas in July-August 2008. Under this initiative, an array of learning & teaching materials were distributed among disabled students.

In October 2008, Care Luit distributed study material among 2000 students from rural areas of Khowang village under Dibrugarh, Assam with active cooperation of Khowang Regional Student’s Union.
